EDM Influenced HipHop
Today, I bring to you a series of songs from a long awaited era of genre collaboration. These two genres are EDM and Hip-Hop/Rap. For so long, we have seen and come across a number of remixes to Hip-Hop/Rap songs by DJ's in the EDM realm; but never an original song where the beat is produced by an EDM DJ and the lyrics from a rapper or Hip-Hop artist. We might have heard minor collaborations here and there from some way-too-underground-for-our-liking duos, but nothing really worthwhile. Not until Lil' Jon and DJ Snake came out with the infamous Turn Down For What and brought that kind of genre out of it's shell and into the light that is mainstream music. Below, I offer a select variety of jams from recent years. Some are heavy on the EDM , easy on the rap, some are the opposite, and some that have just the right mix of both.
