Feel Good Music



 I present to you Tom Misch's Hark. This beautiful instrumental serves nothing but a soothing and mellowing purpose. The harmonious piano to start, adding a very simple drum and bass beat and more or less using his electric guitar as the vocals, because at the end of the day this really speaks to me.


   Moving on to even better feel good music, I give you Oliver Nelson ft. Heir's Found your love. Simple lyrics, a really groovy and funky beat and lots of soul makes this song really stand out for me. With an extremely efficient use of the synthesizer and keyboard , complemented by echo-y vocals makes it very hard not to dance to this song. Hope you enjoyed today's selection. With his elaborate use of echo sounding verses and vibes, Shyner processes living in his city, the loss of a special person among other feelings that hit close to home.      I enjoyed the set approach to the EP, ensuring that the listener needs to engulf themselves in the story as a whole and not a single track. Rhymes and verses were on point, and even though this is all self-mastered and partially self-produced (thanks YouTube beats!), you still hear the words coming through nicely and the echo is there for us to enjoy.      One criticism I have is the condensing of the lyrics. Interview - Yellowtieguy

 Today, I have the privilege of interviewing local DMV rock band Yellowtieguy. The band has been around since 2009 and is the brain-child of lead singer/songwriter and producer Daniel Warren Hill. Over the years, they have cycled through different band members and released two albums 'Play on Words' (2016) and 'Joy in the Mourning' (2011). These days, they released the singles 'I Cry' and 'Information' leading up to their album 'The Inevitable Unexpected'.
