Major Lazer - Peace Is The Mission

On June 1st, electronic music group Major Lazer came out with its newest anticipated album entitled : "Peace Is The Mission" . For those of you who do not know, Major Lazer is an electronic music group created by Diplo and it includes DJ Jillionaire, Walshy Fire and DJ Boaz van de Beatz.

This banger of an album , albeit only 9 tracks long, includes features from some of today's biggest names in music. From big pop icons like Ellie Goulding, Ariana Grande and Danish artist MØ, to big rap and hip-hop names like Travi$ Scott, 2 Chainz and Pusha T.

Featuring the pre-released hit single Lean On feat. MØ , the album includes highlights such as: Blaze Up The Fire feat. Chronixx , Powerful feat. Ellie Goulding and Tarrus Riley and Night Riders feat. Travis $cott , 2 Chainz , Pusha T and Mad Cobra.

Despite its brevity, this album caters to any vibe the listener chooses to subscribe to. Lean On offers a dancy yet mellow trap vibe. With the help of MØ's soothing vocals, and the masterful editing and mixing of the group in collaborating with DJ Snake, this track is an excellent example of musical prowess, not to mention the uniquely abrupt 16-second sequence from 2:16 until 2:32 that features some kind of bird-like ensemble. Similarly, the appropriately named Powerful uses the powerful vocals of Ellie Goulding and Tarrus Riley to offer a track that is uplifting and soulful through the harmonious and melodic vibe that shines throughout the song.

Conversely, tracks such as Night Riders and Blaze Up The Fire offer the other end of the vibe spectrum. Night Riders brings us the hype we need from a Major Lazer album, with a verse by Pusha T to start and 2 Chainz to complement, Travis $cott on the chorus and Mad Cobra with the reggae, it is really hard not to blast this song as loud as possible. Blaze Up The Fire brings fire to the hearts of EDM enthusiasts with the unruly drops and head-banging reggae awesomeness brought to you by Chronixx.

Major Lazer did not disappoint one bit with this album, I honestly cannot wait until "Music Is The Weapon" comes out in late 2015 or early 2016.  As always, stay tuned for more awesome music.
